Went completely gluten free 25 years ago, within 2 weeks I was free of migraines, arthritis, Ibs and mood instability. It saved my life going gluten free
I went gluten not long ago (because of inflamat.)but my belly is even bigger although im slim. I don't consume lactose either. I'd be more than grateful if u have some advice
@@MadaraUchiha... actually I had a diagnose (with biopsy) 1 month ago and I am of glut free diet but no changes so far, doctor said 1 year not 2 weeks as other saying all the time.
I recently adopted a Wheat ( Gluten ) free diet after years of being a physical and Emotional Wreck always fatigued, and it's the best thing I ever did.
I had IBS really bad. A friend of mine suggested that I remove gluten from my diet (her doctor was a holistic and natural doctor/nutritionist) who explained to her what gluten does to people. I removed wheat/gluten from my diet in January 2021 and went 5 months without it. I felt a million times better and my IBS was gone. I recently added gluten back to my diet to see what would happen. I went right back to bloating, constipation, sharp a abdominal pain, diarrhea, headaches and low energy. I removed it again 2 weeks ago and I feel so much better now and I can actually take a proper SH*T everyday! Removing gluten is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, besides quitting smoking.
I can’t agree more I am a nurse of over 40 yrs and have almost turned my back on the the medical pharmaceutical model. I’ve turned around numerous health issues and lost 20kg and maintained my weight for the first time in my life. I’m passionate about this topic!
@@alisonkuan674 it’s not quite as simple as that (rye, barley and most grains contain some form of gluten!) but yes. I had poly, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis in my fifties and it’s all gone! Happy journeying!
@@conniegreen7689 Hi Connie, gosh this is an old post, then you popped up! What do you mean by friends, , as I’m not that good with social media (sporadic at best) tell me about your health journey……
My dog has a gluten allergy, noticed after he broke out in a rash and started scratching all the time. Had to switch him to grain free food, he's better now.
My dog put o wight and lost his shiny coat and started to get creaky joints when he had bread. I cut out bread and he looks like a much younger dog with bags of energy, just shows if it was bad for him probably us too!
Most dogs do. They don´t have many enzimes to digest several types of cereals, seeds and vegetables in their gut bacteria and stomach. That´s why putting dogs on a vegan diet is a very bad idea.
There are some similarities and many differences in the diet requirements of dogs and humans. Dogs are scavengers, tolerant of carrion if it is not too rotten. They do well on meat but generaly eat nose to tail. I have seen Cyotes raid watermelon fields near ruining a crop. Ripe watermelons are not long in the field. Would Cyotes thrive on them as a steady diet? Probably not. Can they get some water and sugar to prop up their ability to out run a pack of Cyote chasing dogs? Probably. If they manage to out run the dogs they return to being primary carnivores but will definitely scavengers garbage pails. In Arkansas they always look mangy, scruffy and poorly fed. Wild Couets are faster than Jack Rabbits! If you try to turn a dog into a grain eating vegan it will not be long before you will need a source of kanine insulin to keep your fat diebetic pup alive! Humans are quite simular in that respect except for the type of insulin of course! Humans a more tolerant of carbs but the end result is about the same.
I’m an adult with Aspergers and when I switched my diet and cut out gluten, dairy, & sugar, my sensitivity to sounds, light, touch, ability to cope with stress, as well as my anxiety, went way down to like nothing. I heard about it from Chris Kresser on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Anyone with ASD or a kid who has it should look into this.
Not only cutting out the opiate aspect of the wheat would help but by cutting out sugar and cutting a lot of carbs from wheat your magnesium status probably improved as these items use up a lot of magnesium and that could be oart of the mechanism with resoect to the sensory sensitivity . Low magnesium status is associated with hypersensitivity to sound and anxiety too, among other things. Magnesium is involved in more than 300 reactions in the body. Serum magnesium levels are not a good indicator of cellular levels . RBC magnesium is a better measure of status. Dr. Carolyn Dean believes you should be above 6.0. I give my autistic daughter a combination of magnesium glycinate, taurate, malate and a small amount of citrate..
I'm starting to think there is no such thing as Aspergers and maybe just symptoms of gluten being bad for us and low vitamin levels due to bad absorption. I too had very bad social anxiety, depression and removed gluten from my diet but i also had bad candida and low vitamin levels. After treating all of these i am like the person i was as a child, outgoing, non fatigued and happy! So many people like 70% on my street have symptoms of Aspergers and many with bad anxiety and this is on the rise, maybe if everyone removed gluten treated themselves for a leaky gut and got all vitamin levels up anxiety numbers and depression will go down?
Even with no noticeable symptoms, giving up wheat improved how I felt, less hungry. more energy etc. and I couldn't figure recently why all my trousers wont quite stay up round my waist. Prove it to yourself, its worth it.
I didn't know the difference between hunger and wheat addiction until i stopped ingesting wheat. Now i absolutely know the difference and losing weight isn't an isssue, that and i feel amazing :)
I was eating salads and meat for 2 weeks. I was running in the morning and evening for a few hours. One day I got emotionally disturbed and had wheat cookies and porige. Next day, I couldn't jog and couldn't even walk for half a time I did previously. Eating salads and stoping sugar and wheat has increased my capacity to jog and excersise gradually, but starting wheat again had a reverse effect just in One Day.
I’ve been gluten free for the past 2 months!! My stomach bloating GONE . Aches and pains GONE . When I want pasta I eat chick pea pasta game changer! Super high in protein and fibre. Yes it’s high in carbs but it’s super high in fibre and doesn’t spike my blood sugar. Doesn’t bloat me at all and have regular bowls movements now. Never eating gluten again!
Dr's skin looks soooooo good! Going Wheat free saved my singing voice and saved my health! I get as many of my singing students that I can off of Wheat completely. My withdrawal was very slight because I was not eating much of it.
William is amazing! He is so right. I never noticed until reading his books, that after eating oatmeal for breakfast in the morning at 8, my stomach was growling like crazy at 930. I also noticed that my hands would swell up for about six to seven hours after eating oatmeal. I always assumed it was because I was typing at work lol. I started eating eggs in the morning, stomach doesnt growl until lunch, hands didnt swell, just insane!!!
But... oatmeal doesn't contain gluten. In processing and farming of oats they may come in contact with trace amounts of gluten from other crops. Is those trace amounts what you're talking about?
I eat glyphosate free / gluten free oatmeal and it’s making a good difference - I avoid gluten and dairy but still think some other stuff is causing inflammation- it’s just hard to understand why products are allowed to say they’re gluten free but still contain a few specks
@@RahafAlharthi fruits, veggies, found this on gugl... Amaranth. Arrowroot. Buckwheat. Corn - cornmeal, grits and polenta labeled gluten-free. Flax. I read the book about ten years ago. Sooo good. Just yesterday I ate half a sausage that had flour in. Through the night I had crippling back pain. It’s so powerful to tune into our body.
xLavishz I don’t suffer from celiac disease but I did see a lot of alternative Doctors and even went to India and Sri Lanka for treatment. Somebody advised me to avoid gluten completely and reduce my carb intake as well. I eat 2 meals a day, lunch and dinner and it comprises of vegetables and tofu. I eat an Apple or pear for a snack. I also make it a point not to eat anything after 7pm. I was religiously doing this since 1 August this month. I could see the improvements in 3 weeks and I feel a whole lot better. Cut out sugar at all costs. Now i realise food is the answer to our medical problems.
I’ve been GF due to celiac disease, I’ve never lost weight on a GF diet. It certainly knocked out the pain due to eating gluten, brain fog and pain bloating fatigue has gone. If I accidentally get glutened all the symptoms come back, I can barely put one foot in front of the other. It takes a few days to get the gluten out of my system. Gluten is like poison to me.
This is 100% Correct, getting off Grains Saved my life.. It will yours. I Worked it out for myself. Then found this kind of information. Self Discipline Needed. Life without Grains is so much better.
I was on a keto diet for a while. Lost weight, no more bloating, no brain frog, more energy, no more depression (xanax for years since teenage years, self mutilation). Then at my parents house went back to a regular diet. Went downhill. Going back to keto as it's the best thing I've done for my health, mental and physical.
I have been on 4 High Blood Pressure meds since i was 34. I am fit and my total cholesterol was really good. My doctors could not understand why my BP was so high at that age. The 4 meds got the BP down to around 130/84. I was supposed to be on these meds for the rest of my life. On my 50th birthday , i decided to experiment by giving up sugar , milk and wheat one at a time. When i gave up wheat, my blood pressure suddenly dropped to 112/76. Not even the 4 meds could give me those figures. I concluded that my BP problems must have been caused by the wheat and my body was naturally fighting it off hence my high BP. I stopped my meds for two days and my BP did not go up, went without the meds for a week and still had BP around 120/80. I now take a blend of flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, goji berries with my homemade coconut milk for breakfast and my BP is constantly below 120/84, my skin looks younger ,my brain is clearer and cholesterol is great.
I wondered about this. I kept having high blood pressure and was trying to lose weight etc. I went on a gluten free diet and 4 months later I went to the doc and it was a perfect 120/80. I went back for a follow up four weeks later and it was another 121/80. I was amazed but I cant seem to find research to say cutting gluten lowers BP but it did in my case.
@@beezusanne Yep. Wheat is big business and it's in almost all our breakfast meals and nobody will be willing to fund that research. the truth of the matter is that the wheat we have now is different from that of 40 years ago. Even the pest in the farms don't eat it. That says something.
If you listen to this whole show, you'll find he said that wheat has been always not good for us & that it's been made worse & worse in the last 40 years or so.
I just made the decision to go gluten, dairy free. In just three days I feel better. Years of recurring digestive 'infections,' allergies, sinus infections, URI...and hearing loss. I am hopeful, and my energy and mood is way better.
I was sick recently for about a month. It got progressively worse with symptoms including severe bloating (upper abdomen & chest) that lasts all day, migraines out of nowhere, and fatigue. The doctor couldn't figure it out. By the 3rd week, after starting meds for bloating, I noticed a slight decrease in bloating, but would blow right back up if I at anything containing flour (bread, flour tortilla, a donut, etc). I'm typically not a big bread eater. So, long story short I cut the flour products completely out. We had a Gluten free Thanksgiving. I am a little over a week gluten free and I feel great. All of the symptoms are gone. It took about 3-4 days gluten free to start feeling better.
I dont understand how Docs dont say go GF right away! Whats the harm? Try it for 2 weeks and see. Instead they have you do 100 tests and still cant figure it out! Useless!
Yes, if you read his books, he is stating that exact thing. Those grains are sugar, they raise your levels more so than a candy bar. This is why after eating pancakes, rolls, high carb/grain products, etc., you experience the same Sugar Crash you would experience after eating a ton of cookies, drinking a ton of pop, consuming sugar. However, the withdrawal and crash from all of these, the grains are the most Severe. You would be surprised if you stopped the grains, how much Less you would crave sugar, even as a sugar addict. His books are a bit technical, but Ive learned more about nutrition, my body, etc. from reading his books. Its too bad that this is looked at as a diet, it is scary that this isnt taken seriously by doctors, nutritionists, etc. There is a reason we are dying earlier than previous generations, reasons why our children have high cholesterol and blood pressure in their teens, why we are extremely overweight, depressed and anxious, and fatigued. We have been ingesting poison continuously, poison that we are being told to Ingest. It is infuriating to see this scoffed at by my doctor, but when going grain free, I got off my blood pressure meds, and I ate chocolate on the daily lol and two or three sodas on the daily. No one will ever convince me that grains are good. I wont go into how amazing my skin looks, how much energy I have, no brain fog, no depression, no anxiety, no overeating....my life is amazing now. Go into the store, read the nutrition labels on the food, and know that wheat/grains are in nearly Everything. It is disgusting, knowing that we are being poisoned! Its money, its a filler, its addictive, and we are the guinea pigs.

I'd given up gluten to address my IBS. But one night, not having eaten all day - I ate a load of gluten-free bread. And the next day, my IBS really flared up. It was then that I knew that wheat was the issue - not least because after eating bran flakes, I was always aware of an immediate qualitative change that I couldn't really define. But bear in mind that at this point - it was all about resolving my IBS. So, I didn't eat wheat the next day ... and here's the fantastic thing - I discovered it cured my CFS/ME (aswell as the IBS) My CFS had gotten progressively worse since my mid-20's (30 years ago). It had gotten to the point that I couldn't walk very far or fast (or stand for long) because after half an hour, I'd have a mood and fatigue crash. I'd wanted to go to a public firework display in November - but would only be able to do it if I took my bike to sit on (which effectively, was my wheelchair) because I couldn't stand for long ... so I didn't go. But a day or so after giving up grains, I went out for an evening stroll - and about 2 hours after returning, realised I hadn't had any kind of mood crash ... and was very excited that it could be due to the grainlessness. So the next evening, I decided I'd try and trigger a crash by walking faster - and when I got back, there was no crash. I also realised that my knees hadn't buckled once during my walk as they constantly used to ... and that I could walk over uneven ground without looking like a ragdoll. Now I was really excited. So I decided I walk a really long way the next evening - and I walked for maybe an hour and jogged the last few hundred yards home ... and I hadn't run for years ! And no mood or fatigue crash ! Evidently, my muscles just weren't receiving the signals to burn and work - because I used to get breathless walking at a normal pace ... which completely disappeared. The other effects were a quiet mind (none of the distracting mental 'static') - not being constantly hungry (I lost a stone without trying) - and being able to follow movie dialogue without effort (which I hadn't realised I was having to previously) aswell as being more observant of visual detail. And after 6 months, I also realised that I hadn't had a single suicidal thought ... which before was routine and daily. Giving up grains was truly transformational and had liberated me from neurological disability.
Thankyou for sharing your experiences. I was 17 when it started getting bad and now at 32 I'm desperate for a solution. I've been trying GF but having just as bad symptoms and this guy has just said stop thinking gluten is the only bad thing in wheat... As he's been talking it's joined up so much of my trial and error. Your words have just given me hope I can turn this around. Chronic fatigue and chronic pain have robbed me if my twenties but in determined to get my life back
Wow very similiar to me. Bran flakes lover here. I ate them on mass lol. But was always lazy. 25 to 35 i noticed digestive health problems along the way. I was pretty fit until i took an antibiotic and i think these just amplify everything. As you loose good gut bacteria. So i was taking big probiotics and getting better then i took box of cerial again. With hot water to make sure it wasnt milk. I went back into CFS and IBS. I think that confirmed it that its wheat that is the issue. This happened to the egyptians too. The wheat got infected with mold
I've been having acid reflux for as long as can remember, and after researching on my other symptoms like joint pain, fatigue, brain fog, tiredness i went gluten free. The heart burn has disappeared, i feel more energetic and the amount that i eat has become so small because i don't get hungry as much and feel full after eating a little. I'm just so thankful for finding out the problem
I am gluten and wheat free for a month now and I see huge improvements in my psoriasis skin as well as it cleared up most of my flaky scalp too, as a bonus my joint pains as result from this autoimmune disease has completely gone. Couldn't believe it as I literally tried every diet and ointment on the planet. I am aware of the fact that this would not help everyone, but I am sure that wheat and gluten are a no-go zone for me. I feel so much fitter and healthier. I wonder what happens after a year if even after one month of gluten free is already so powerful.
Ive been Gluten Free for 6 weeks. My growling stomach is gone and digestive issues are mostly gone and so is my joint pain....i went GF on my own advice to try to figure out my situation.
Everything this guy says is absolutely right. So why is it, my sister & I (aged 42 & 39 respectively) have been diagnosed with Celiacs, but our parents have no issues at all consuming wheat products? I believe it's because our parents were raised on a different diet consisting of different grains, but things changed around the time we kids were born (mid-late 70's). I for one was raised on vegemite & cheese sandwiches (it's an Aussie thing). Not a day would go by that I wouldn't eat a wheat based product. I always had a healthy "beer gut" too, even as a kid. If I follow that diet now, I get horrendous gut aches, headaches, irritable bowels including bloody stools, fatigue & the list of health problems goes on. Ultimately a lack of nutrition due to irritable bowel & celiacs could result in leukemia & an early death Since changing my diet to gluten free, I can eat regularly without irritation or feelings off sudden hunger (at times this could be crippling), I have normal stools, no headaches, regular sleep patterns...& most of all I'm happy. I have also dropped to a healthy 70kg down from a peak of 91kg, in the space of about 6 months. This weight is perfect for my body mass index. I'm finally healthy.
Genetically Engineered Foods causes gluten intolerance. They are engineered to be able to resist being sprayed with RoundUp, and everything but the wheat, soybean, etc. The industrialization of food is slowly killing us!
Never had problem with my weight but had crippling depression which has nearly vanished since I went gluten and processed carbs free about a month ago.
gluten almost ended my life as it shut down my adrenals due to undiagnosed Celiac disease. Was in a wheelchair and no one could figure out what was wrong. My brother, the "doctor" who misdiagnosed me and I consequently lost everything because of his stubborn pride refusing to admit the adrenals were failing even though I had labs proving such. My body was literally fermenting to death. I did not know I had Celiac until 2 years later after I lost everything. Conventional doctors are the WORST! Also, I would bet Dr. Davis has reconsidered his take on a carnivore diet (organic as possible) because the results are amazing in the many I know who have stuck to this way of eating for years.
I’ve been off wheat for a week today- cutting off pastas and breads (which I eat every single day) and avoiding everything that has wheat in the ingredients. I’m eating rice and potatoes in place of them, and my meals have become far more filling and spaced apart (because they aren’t as quick to make as the prior two are) Besides feeling really hungry for the first 5 days, I feel really light and energetic and today I found myself getting mildly hungry at around 3 pm- even though I skipped breakfast. I don’t have celiac disease, I just decided to do this to see if my body feels better and if I have any allergy to wheat. It’s a lot easier than I thought it would be, I’m surprised by what the doctor is saying.
Rice also has a gluten-like protein in it that many people are sensitive to. Many supplements and medications use wheat, rice or corn starch as a binding agent.
I have been on 4 Blood Pressure medication since i was 34. My blood pressure is still high when i miss a day of medication but my sugar and cholesterol levels were really good. I baffled my Doctor. Many tests and scans failed to point out the cause of the high BP. When i turned 51 this year i decided to give up Gluten and Sugar and after two weeks , my BP dropped to 117/72 for the first time. I decided to skip my medications for two days and my BP was even better 112/70. I bought a new BP monitor just to make sure it was correct and it's still below 117/75 everyday. I should have done this 21 years ago instead of popping pills. ''You are indeed what you eat''. My body has been fighting the poisons i have been putting into it , hence my high BP from the age of 32. I haven't felt this good in a long time.
I stopped Saturday & sunday 27- 28 april 2019 with eating bread. Pain disappeared from my stomach. My stomach feels good. Let me see how much weight I will lose within 1 month. I shall buy your book Dr Williams
I found out I had a gluten allergy in 2016 with a blood test. My symptoms were all respiratory, even though I was tested for asthma and tested negative. Most symptoms were in my throat - constant "throat clearing" to the point I couldn't even hold a conversation. Doctor said I had acid reflux and prescribed Nexium, but I found that hard to believe the onset would be so bad. I never filled the prescription. He then decided to test me for food allergies and gluten allergy was positive. I'm not always compliant with a gluten-free diet, but after seeing this video I will be strict. I would love to know what Dr. David thinks of Einkorn wheat though.
Very informative. Not sure if I'm buying the entire 'all grains are evil' idea, but I'm on board with ditching wheat. I've felt the effects firsthand (diminished pain, skin rashes, and GERD), and love the increased energy. Still love my other grains like GF oats, rice, corn and potatoes, but I've definitely cut down how much breads have dominated my diet.
@@edmondpottle1181 oats, not so much gluten but I go organic to be sure there’s no glyphosate or wheat by products. The rest you listed, I definitely cannot do. My comment is 4 years old and since then I’ve discovered I’m allergic to gluten, thankfully not a celiac reaction but mild anaphylaxis is still nothing fun. Rice, quinoa, and organic oats are my go to grains but constitute a much smaller portion of my diet than fruits, veggies, and proteins
@@OhTylerB yes very easy to go out of balance and become a ‘breadatarian’ lol. This comment is 4 years old but I still feel similarly now as I did then. I cannot do gluten in any form as I’m allergic but I do organic oats, quinoa, and rice. Some corn too, albeit in a lesser amount than the typical American diet. Those grains I won’t reduce any more than I have as I’ve not noticed any ill effects with the amount that I eat. I try not to eat anything from the gluten-free section either as that’s loaded with sugars, which I feel is the larger problem with grains as a whole. My blood sugar and cholesterol is fine however so I’m not worried about my current diet. At least not until the holidays roll around and gluten laden foods are everywhere 😆 always keeping an eye out for metabolic changes though. No diets I’ve been on has been a forever one
Be wise and try it yourself! Experience is the best teacher. I had recently been suffering from thyroid issues and a skin rash issue that didn't heal for over a year. I went to a year of immunotherapy allergy shots with no improvement, a dermatologist, with no relief, and then began looking for other options. I figured that giving up gluten for a season was a small sacrifice to test this doctor's hypothesis. I went farther though, I also gave up all GMOs and sugar, all meat, only consuming non-GMO foods and organic fruits and veggies. In two weeks, ALL of my "allergy" symptoms cleared up. My brain fog has lifted and my energy levels are through the roof. AMAZING!!! This is going to be a permanent lifestyle change for me. For all the naysayers, one can deny a truth based on personal ideologies, but not personal experience.
6 days ago I quit wheat and I thought I got a bad flu. I did some research before that decision. So NOW I watch this guy say that it was just withdrawal symptoms.
Yep he is spot on, i gave up wheat and grains, suger and ceed oils, lost 19 kilos, feel superhuman, no plaque, no rashers, no joint pain, no irritable bowls, no bloating, loads of energy, getting stronger everyday. Everything we have been told about nutrition by the establishment is wrong, .
I respect this guy and I respect and strongly advocate a gluten-free diet (wheat, rye, spelt, barley free). That being said I think it's a bit of a cop-out to say all grains are bad. We essentially eat the seeds of grain plants so saying that is bad is comparable to saying eating nuts from trees or seeds from things like sunflowers or pumpkin seeds is bad.
Seeds and nuts have toxins to prevent ingestion to protect the plant’s ability to reproduce. I’m most familiar with almonds with oxalates because I cracked 2 teeth and had horrific joint inflammation. Thankfully I ran across Dr Ken Berry’s channel over a year ago, eat ketovore (less than 20 grams of carbs a day) completely healed, lost my fatty liver problem and 45 pounds. Have painlessly maintained the loss (because I am healthy now) for 8 months. Sally K Morton is the oxalate expert and has a website. For your health’s sake I pray you keep an open mind and check out Dr Berry.
lol I was in the hospital for a month for “symptomatic Crohn’s disease”. I was convinced that I had IBS/IBD….1 month without any bread/grains and I gained so much energy, no brain fog, no apathy, and healthy BM’s. I only eat 2 meals/day between 10am-6pm…no ravenous hunger between then.

We need more info on what we can eat and learn from experts on gluten and grains to optimise health. Interesting blog where I learnt that just a little bit won’t hurt - my mantra when eating out which can be a nightmare for gluten sensitive diners. Thanks 😊
If you think you react to gluten - even if your blood tests came back negative to celiac - try cutting out gluten for at least 6 weeks anyway. I was tested several times on celiac and it always came back negative. Got diagnosed with IBS-D and put on medication. After trying out a glutenfree diet myself it turned out I react to gluten and am now free from all my horrible IBS symptoms. I heard that story many times now. Some people react to gluten without having celiac disease.
I absolutely love Dr. Davis however one thing he said in his discussion did not ring true to me, going off of sugar most certainly DOES give you similar effects of going off of wheat. I know this all too well personally from weening myself off of sugars (stopping cold turkey years ago) first, before I ever thought to get rid of wheat and all seeds of grass, due to issues with Candida and I can say 100% it is just like going off a low grade drug, with all of the 'fun' symptoms included. I am surprised he says this because he is a doctor and an advocate to not eat sugars, as mentioned in his books. I would think he would understand the dopamine release that happens in the brain when we eat sweets, and all the other similar wheat/sugar similarities. I really think he should collaborate with Dr. Lustig the crusader of a sugar free world and teach America and the world how to eat. Doctor Lustig mentions in his documentary 'toxic sugars' that the Paleolithic diet is a terrific way to cure type 2 diabetes. This lifestyle includes both a no sugar and no seeds of grass way of life. - Just food for thought. If two powerhouses like Dr. Davis and Dr. Lustig united with their factions of followers, I for-see wonderful things happening for the world of healthy eating, as Hippocrates said, "let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
I used to have cravings all the time. Now I don’t and felt this difference within 2 days of skipping all gluten and dairy out of my diet. You also naturally start taking less sugar coz most of sugar is consumed either through dairy products or wheat.
I had heart attack at 55. I am thin fit. Doctor says there is nothing I can do. I stopped wheat and my intestine work better. Heartburn gone. My parents did not have early heart disease. My husband's blood pressure went down off wheat.
I have had chronic pain for over 30 years. Doctors have been NO help to me. They just did test after test, and gave me drug after drug. It has been a nightmare. I am going to go gluten free and see what happens.
Update: I have been wheat free about 9 days. I have lost 3 pounds, I feel more awake and clearer, less hungry, fewer cravings, and I think my pain is lower. It is hard to tell. I went thru a bit of a withdrawal where it was worse. I feel great and I am going to keep this up. Oh, and my gut is much more comfortable. The rest of my diet is very good and I am already a vegan.
I’ve been diagnosed with IBS a few years ago but recently my IBS has been really bad lately. As soon as I went on a gluten free diet, ive not had a bad stomach since
Wow, Doctor Davis is so knowledable about wheat! I listened to Wheat Belly on compact disk. The book is well worth the time. I also need to read: Grain Brain: The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar--Your Brain's Silent Killers by David Perlmutter. Brown rice has a glycemic index of 50. White rice has a glycemic index of 89! The glycemic index is based around white cane sugar, which has a glycemic index of 100. The thing is, Doctor Davis never makes a big deal about white sugar or corn syrup, which definitely make people obese, diabetic and spike insulin. To be healthy, you have to give up sugar, corn syrup and cut way back on the wheat or give wheat up all together. If he is still eating sugar, that would explain the extra pounds on him.
Anthony, that neck doesn't mean he is fat...but agreed he leaves out about refined sugar...wow! If all wheat is gmo...it may truly be a major problem...i hope oats are ok tho...i love my oats!
Logically of course he is against refined sugar. Any doctor is against refined sugar....duh. anyone with a brain is against refined sugar. But this news special is about gluten.
listen to your bodies. if your body doesn't like something it will tell you. hence you get sick. moderation is also the key. everyone's body is different some people can tolerate rubbish others cannot.
I stopped gluten and I have zero pain in my body. Holistic and Naturopathic doctors are the ones who are doing all the research and bringing these findings to light and then regular doctors finally figure it out. Healthcare is changing because people are no longer okay with treating symptoms and not the root cause of diseases. Doctors have been ruled by pharmacy companies and healthcare entities for profit over actual helping people heal their bodies and cure diseases
I gave up wheat years ago, and never looked back. I use almond, and coconut flour as a substitute for baking. If I'm desperate for a cracker: rice cake. Frankly, never been healthier.
Buckwheat porridge made from buckwheat groats is great with Stevia and sea salt along with almond milk for breakfast. This is great content, and very helpful that Dr. Davis explains multiple times b/c it IS so ingrained in us about wheat. But that said I think it would have been helpful if Mr. Alvarez had better well prepared Questions or a better prepared outline.
Very informative, there were days when I would go without eating anything wheat based (oatmeal and bread) and I would get so nauseated or I would have head aches and I never understood why. I never thought that it was because my body was craving wheat.
I am so great full to Dr William Davis I have been trying so hard to find out what we can eat I have Gallstone's , I have Ulcerated Oesophagus R/Artists my mum had her Gallstone's out they tried 3 time' s and than removed her Vile duty as well I tried to have GallStone's out last year but flatline with allergies to the medication to knock me out we do have a family history of not been able to be put out or we wake up for many generations but I was shocked to be on life support and still have Gall Stones. I have learnt a lot in the last 30 minutes thanking for bringing Dr Davis on your show so great full.
I think wheat wasn't a problem 50 years ago. Today wheat has been bred to increase gluten, the chromosome count is up much higher than in the past. Also now with all the Pesticides which swell the gut and is found in wheat, it's causing so many problems. It's a crime what theses chemical companies have done to our food, to our health.
I've had digestive issues my whole life. Also felt lack of energy, was called lazy most of the time, and was overweigth. My mind would get very foggy and confused sometimes and my mood was terrible. I also developed psoriasis at age 11. After every meal I would take a 3 hour nap from being so tired. Finally realized I was a celiac or allergic to gluten, after 21 years of struggling with mental and physical health. Now it all makes sense, the food pyramid is a sick joke to make more money, a win-win for the food and drug industries. I've only been gluten and wheat free for about 3 days and already feel so much better with a lot more enegy, no napping or bad mood. I wish my family members followed me on this new change but because of the "gluten" label on wheat they believed that to be the only problem when its actually all of the components of wheat together. Once I get healthier and better I hope they believe me and follow suit. Thank you for this information, it is life changing!
Not saying you don't have it or anything, but if you have Celiac disease then it's because of a placebo that you feel better after just 3 days. Celiac damages your intestines and takes months if not years to heal on a gluten free diet. There days wouldn't make any difference whatsoever to 90% of the typical no symptoms. It's more likely that you have gluten sensitivity which is less severe, though still not fun.
For the unbeliever, how about give up the gluten for one month and see how ur body react to it.And then reintroduce it back.Your body will never lie to you.Stop being ignorance and said something like "human being has been consumed wheat for million of years".That just outright dumb

This doctor is a genius. Everyone should listen to him, at least try it for few weeks. You will see the difference.
My partner experienced the same thing. He stopped eating it and IBS symptoms out the window
You might want to get checked for celiac disease.

I thought dog is carnivora, that's mean eat meat
4Veritas Thanks for that info! I started taking magnesium a few months ago because I heard it helps with sleep, so I’ll definitely keep taking it now.
No jou t stiffness either

Thanks for your experiment. Nice info. Wheat is bad.
He shouldn't have said their are no candy or candy bar withdrawal symptoms. Sugar is a big addictive for many people.

Thw world needs more doctor like Dr. Davis!
So, I didn't eat wheat the next day ... and here's the fantastic thing - I discovered it cured my CFS/ME (aswell as the IBS)
My CFS had gotten progressively worse since my mid-20's (30 years ago).
‘No pain, no grain ‘ book is really good
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Nick!

If you accidentally eat gluten how long do your symptoms last?

I am gluten and wheat free for a month now and I see huge improvements in my psoriasis skin as well as it cleared up most of my flaky scalp too, as a bonus my joint pains as result from this autoimmune disease has completely gone. Couldn't believe it as I literally tried every diet and ointment on the planet. I am aware of the fact that this would not help everyone, but I am sure that wheat and gluten are a no-go zone for me.
Ultimately a lack of nutrition due to irritable bowel & celiacs could result in leukemia & an early death
Since changing my diet to gluten free, I can eat regularly without irritation or feelings off sudden hunger (at times this could be crippling), I have normal stools, no headaches, regular sleep patterns...& most of all I'm happy.
I have also dropped to a healthy 70kg down from a peak of 91kg, in the space of about 6 months. This weight is perfect for my body mass index.
I'm finally healthy.
I think you're right.
Wheat has undergone modification such that you're not eating the same wheat your parents and grandparents did.

gluten almost ended my life as it shut down my adrenals due to undiagnosed Celiac disease.
I’m eating rice and potatoes in place of them, and my meals have become far more filling and spaced apart (because they aren’t as quick to make as the prior two are)
Besides feeling really hungry for the first 5 days, I feel really light and energetic and today I found myself getting mildly hungry at around 3 pm- even though I skipped breakfast.
Excellent advice, heard this info from Dr Gundry as well. Thank you both for standing on real research and spreading the truth . Appreciate it.

Great stuff, I've recently starred looking in to this stuff and the dangers of bread are really mind boggling
I stopped Saturday & sunday 27- 28 april 2019 with eating bread. Pain disappeared from my stomach. My stomach feels good. Let me see how much weight I will lose within 1 month. I shall buy your book Dr Williams
ok, ok, I apologize🙏 you all convinced me to try, thank you for opening my eyes❣️
How are you feeling now?
Grains aren't evil but the bad in them out weigh the good. That's not even open to debate.
Most gluten come from wheat, rye, oats, and barley.
Same, I ditched wheat and feel better, but other grains don't bother me.
Rebecca Toruno Your symptoms sound like coeliac's disease.
Rebecca Toruno What was your diet like?
Rebecca Toruno :
6 days ago I quit wheat and I thought I got a bad flu. I did some research before that decision. So NOW I watch this guy say that it was just withdrawal symptoms.
Horrible headaches for 6 days. Worse headaches I have ever experienced. Lost 10lbs in 2 weeks.
This is interesting I’m currently ill and it shows up positive on a Covid test but I’ve been gluten and dairy free for 5 days
he's scaring the shit out of me and the stress is killing me more than anything else...
so try his advice and see if you don't feel better. Good luck.
@@sandracoleman5888 In fact.. I did. It worked and now I'm setting up a nutritional therapy practise.
Absolutely shocking!... I'm reading this book ASAP.
Knowledge is true power within daily! I truly appreciate this very powerful King + Dr. William Davis MD. Stay Encouraged Daily! Also, thank you so much for Sharing With Us Important Information with us. Peace for now! 💚🥇👑🏆✨🌍🌿🌱
I was just thinking this about sugar. When I stop drinking soda I get all those symptoms
ExpeditionGoodLife well said 👍
He was saying when you quit sugar, doesnt mean you stop eating wheat produce.
I used to have cravings all the time. Now I don’t and felt this difference within 2 days of skipping all gluten and dairy out of my diet. You also naturally start taking less sugar coz most of sugar is consumed either through dairy products or wheat.
Just a knock out. What a speaker.
He is a great speaker! Definitely make sense why im struggling with gluten allergy... Thank you!💗
I had heart attack at 55.
Great to hear! I'm about to try this also gluten free.
I also need to read:
Grain Brain:
The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar--Your Brain's Silent Killers by David Perlmutter.
Brown rice has a glycemic index of 50. White rice has a glycemic index of 89!
The glycemic index is based around white cane sugar, which has a glycemic index
of 100.
The thing is, Doctor Davis never makes a big deal about white sugar or corn
syrup, which definitely make people obese, diabetic and spike insulin. To be
healthy, you have to give up sugar, corn syrup and cut way back on the wheat or
give wheat up all together.
Tahnn Ju wheat and oats are perfect for me and family. All very healthy. Added sugar is rubbish though, avoid at all costs
Yes you ca also take arsenic in small doses(moderation) for a ling time before it finally kills you.
for me; moderation doesn't help... elimation is what I HAVE TO DO...or cannot breath!
Moderation is a poor excuse to eat garbage!!!
Cleared up my Eczema and Leg Numbness in just a few days. Also lost weight as an added bonus.
really
I stopped gluten and I have zero pain in my body. Holistic and Naturopathic doctors are the ones who are doing all the research and bringing these findings to light and then regular doctors finally figure it out. Healthcare is changing because people are no longer okay with treating symptoms and not the root cause of diseases. Doctors have been ruled by pharmacy companies and healthcare entities for profit over actual helping people heal their bodies and cure diseases
I can't like this enough, thank you Dr Davis.
He never mentioned dairy or lactose intolerance. I'm surprised because that too can cause digestive issues for many folks.
I gave up wheat years ago, and never looked back. I use almond, and coconut flour as a substitute for baking. If I'm desperate for a cracker: rice cake. Frankly, never been healthier.
After struggle with my IBS .i stopped eating wheat . feel much better .thanks Dr
It's not just wheat, it's the GMO wheat. There is not natural organic Wheat anymore... Thanks to Monsanto.
I’ve also got IBS & on a gluten free diet & feel so much better for it
Buckwheat porridge made from buckwheat groats is great with Stevia and sea salt along with almond milk for breakfast. Soaks the groats 2 times in boiling water and leave overnight to soften and cuts the cooking time down to 15 mins and then blend just a tiny bit and add in almond milk, salt and Stevia. Buckwheat pasta is gluten free too!
I make muffins with Buckwheat or Almond flour sweetened with Xylitol.
Yup.. I was exposed to gluten after being GF for 6 months and bam joint pain, bloating, diarrhea.. crazy!
Yep! Worst mistake ever- splurge on vacation
He's saying that wheat was never ok. Just in the last 40-50 years it has gotten so much worse.
@lynne3989 well, I'm almost 70 years and I should know by having eaten it since the 1950's how it has changed for me in my lifetime
Thr truth will win every time.
shall try this theory on myself for one month before starting on my patients
amr hamdy does it help ?
Did you try it?
Great research and very logical and clear explanation. Is Rice better than wheat?
Did you cut out all grains including rice?
Not saying you don't have it or anything, but if you have Celiac disease then it's because of a placebo that you feel better after just 3 days. Celiac damages your intestines and takes months if not years to heal on a gluten free diet. There days wouldn't make any difference whatsoever to 90% of the typical no symptoms. It's more likely that you have gluten sensitivity which is less severe, though still not fun.
Thank you for this wonderful presentation, I'm glad I could listen to it.✌️👼❤️
For the unbeliever, how about give up the gluten for one month and see how ur body react to it.And then reintroduce it back.Your body will never lie to you.Stop being ignorance and said something like "human being has been consumed wheat for million of years".That just outright dumb
Wow 😮 Very informative 👏 hence the vital importance of always seeking for learning. Doing your own research and thinking for thyself ! ❤
I dont know if it's gluten or wheat, but when I eat bread I get the WORST Indigestion of my life for several hours(6+)
