Ruby is getting closer to understand Ai's character and what she felt at the time. Those last 3 pages were great.

Ruby had a moment of clarity, realizing that her mom couldn't have been genuinely happy around people who seemed to dislike her despite being considered friends. This made Ruby empathize more with Ai's feelings.

On a positive note, it was great to see Minami and Frill again.

The consequences of Kana's yelling, hate, jealousy, as well as the friction she created between Ruby and herself is now showing itself. As the reincarnation of Sarina, Ruby is now doubting that Ai Hoshino was genuinely happy with the other B-Komachi members. This chapter is an eye-opener for the audience and for Ruby: Ai Hoshino is reflected in the mirror with two black-starred eyes.

Turns out that Kana was right, and it was exactly what Ruby needed to actually understand the role of Ai.
The real problem now comes from the fact that Kana's emotions might end mixed with Nino's, unless someone (Aqua, Akane or Ruby) checks on her, things might turn sour soon. Also interesting that Memcho also felt jealousy towards Ruby but knew that saying that out loud could make things worse for B-komachi

Ruby's realization of the vulnerabilities in Ai's facade is truly significant.

The breakdown of the "invincible" idol persona as she begins to comprehend her mother is interesting. It makes me ponder: if lies represent love, then what defines the truth?

Ruby is breaking apart because of Kana's words. Kana's actions were the best for both of them: Kana can get into Nino's role and Ruby can understand Ai's hurt feelings. Without Kana venting, we would not get to this point. Frill is right: acting is a game-changer of the movie.

@CQLLIST Interesting question to ponder! It's only in the unfolding of the series that we get our answers little by little.

Damn it's been nothing but pain for Ruby these last few chapters but I feel like this might help boost the quality of her performance as Ai exponentially.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

The "worst" part? Ai became most popular after "becoming a woman" and genuinely happy only after loving her kids. I hope Ruby will not have some stupid idea.

I understand now, Aka is having Shiranui Frill explain that because he is looking down on the average reader, he feels like he needs to explain that kind of thing, giving off the impression that Frill is spoonfeeding Ruby, even though in the past Ruby was already able to see through Kana's lies with no problem, but now she can't do it. What a waste of a chapter.

except there aren’t really lies to see through. kana isn’t lying she’s doing the opposite and not hiding the jealousy anymore. and even if she was lying it’s a lot harder to see through when it’s something emotionally violent and directly regarding yourself. especially compared to like being able to tell kana lying about not wanting to be center or something in the group. totally different scenarios. sounds you are who aka needs to explain things to lol

Jealousy is normal for any human being but glad to see how mature memcho is she doesn't let her Jealousy to control her while Jealousy to the point you want to hurt the person who called you her friend is indeed unhealthy besides even if ruby is popular today we have to give the credits how dangerously intelligent she is during that dark ruby arc when she pulled many strings with her own efforts to gain this popularity but whatever for kana I can only say even her motive is not wrong but her words of hate is indeed genuine I obviously like kana's straightforward nature but she still need to work on her insecurities and attitude especially with that foul mouth she can never reach anywhere one wrong word and everyone will turn against her if anything she's only going to gain more enemies and this how the world works I hope in the end this b-komachi can be a far better version than ai's.

Yes, yes, Kana is jealous of Ruby, and she clearly wished at the time that something bad would happen to her, question, did she hurt Ruby in any way? Did she physically harm her? or mental before this?. No.

However, who is the one who plans a complete revenge for 11 years to kill his father? ...or who is the girl who was willing to commit suicide and wanted commit homicide with her boyfriend to help him get revenge on his father? was Kana?? I mean, are you telling me that being jealous or envious, or even having bad feelings, are worse things that a person could have than the selfish homicidal feelings that Aqua or Akane could have? I mean... what kind of double moral is this?

Honestly, the vast majority of ONK characters have questionable morals and ethics, and clearly they are not an example for teenagers, quite the opposite, but hey, let's not take our luck among gypsies, Kana's feelings are the most harmless of all the bad feelings that we have seen in this manga, because at least none of those feelings have involved wanting to commit murder or manipulating people to hurt them.

Fans want to talk about a reprehensible attitude towards Kana, when Akane, Aqua and the affected Ruby herself have done worse, dirtier and perverse things to achieve their goals, damn it! donkeys talking about ears... xD

The only girl who could criticize Kana's attitude is the healthiest and holiest girl in this manga, and that is MemCho, no one else could criticize what Kana is doing, not even Ruby or her fans whose are the most affected, they don't have any moral to criticize what Kana does, when your own lovely character has had completely bastard attitudes throughout the manga.

@DarkL0lik0n69 which character has had bastard attitudes throughout the manga you are talking about? Ruby? when she probably has the least screen time in the major of the story and even in her dark era I never seen her harming kana or memcho for once and if her getting popular make those girls jealous of her then that's their personal feelings no one can do anything about it you know what Aqua, ruby and akane are the kind of cases where many don't think them as realistic as kana coz this is how she's directed by author "a girl way to normal like any human being" and if people criticized kana's current attitude maybe they can relate themselves with situations where they've got hurted by people like "kana" who is enough comfortable to show their love by action but in the same time doesn't mind to spit venom regardlessly whatever their reason is so criticism is not always hate nor everyone is into stupid waifu shits neither every reader is an immature fools who can't differentiate between right and wrong and yeah mind you whatever you said about Aqua and akane is 100% true and maybe that's why I don't care about them that much, for ruby I just wish she can get some development someone different from ai and aqua in the end memcho is still the best so far.

(Thoughts when I first read the chapter which was a few hours ago and I've since read the following chapters)

Just like Kana planned, Ruby is starting to realise how Ai must've really felt.

But it still hurts to see them like this.

@DarkL0lik0n69 Ruby's the worst character in all of oshi no ko....Like, she's a narcissistic selfish nepo baby who takes full advantage of her connections (being ai's daughter, and manager miyako saitou's adoptive daughter), even when she claimed to be upset over her secret being revealed.

She stole kana's and memcho's idol careers, intentionally.

She stole kana's center position in the group, and was willing to jeopardise kana's role further by thoughtlessly inviting mimi. Even on kana's last concert, ruby callously stole the center position and all the spotlight.

She cruelly manipulated shun yoshizumi.

She didn't even care when kana got caught in the scandal.

She was extremely demeaning to akane while fighting aggressively like a wild animal for ai's role, a role only akane could've nailed.

And don't even get me started on the whole incest thing....she forced aqua into it...

See, thing is, all the other characters, though flawed, are self-aware, and have done things for others around them. Ruby, though...i never actually saw her do anything for anyone else. Even once she became white-star eyed again, she could've shifted the center position back to kana, as it was rightfully kana's to begin with. she could've shifted some of the spotlight to kana or mem, but she didn't....and these are just a few examples. Aqua still cared about people around him, akane was willing to die for aqua, miyako became a very loving mom, memcho was always there for kana when she was low, and kana always let others around her shine first. Ruby never did anything for anyone else.
